Will Face Recognition Bring Back the Mask?

I gather from reading around the internet that some people are really freaked out by face recognition software. Everywhere you go, people curious about you will inspect you through their google glasses, which will use recognition technology to identify you and then search the web for all available information about you. These people are so freaked out about the end of anonymity that they won't post any pictures of their children online.

But for this problem there is an obvious solution: bring back masks!

After all, Renaissance aristocrats had the same problem of being recognized everywhere they went, so when they wanted to be anonymous, out came the masks.

Not only would this foil the software and bring back anonymity, the world would look a lot cooler.

Meetings would be like evil conspiracies!

Every party or night on the town could be a masked ball.

We would all be as stylish as Venetians!

I don't think we would even have to go as far as full-face masks; something like this might be enough to foil the software.

Many, many things that people think are new problems are not, and some of them have already been solved.
