Wolves and the Yellowstone Trophic Cascade

Fascinating video on the far-reaching effects of re-introducing wolves to Yellowstone. The wolves killed some deer and elk and chased the rest away from the river valley bottoms, which caused the vegetation to regrow along the river, encouraging many other animal species and reducing erosion.

More evidence, I would say, that too many deer are a disaster.
