Not Many Teen Moms Left

Ponder the amazing decline of teenage parenthood in America; the birth rate for teenage girls is down by more than 50% just since 1990. This has something to do with the overall decline in the birth rate, but as the graph shows the decline in the overall rate is much, much less.

Incidentally, the source for this data is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. What does it mean that in America the birth rate is tracked by Centers for Disease Control?

Well why wouldn't pregnancy be tracked by the CDC? It's a major health concern which directly ties to all sorts of diseases and illnesses.

I get it that they have all the health statisticians and so on, I just find it amusing that we track birth like a disease.
